Delete your data
You can remove your MasjidGo account and the information attached to it at any time. There are two ways, depending on how much you want gone.
Remove everything stored on your phone
Uninstall MasjidGo. Your saved theme, language, notification settings, prayer tracker, streak, favourites, cached prayer times and saved home location are stored only on the device and are deleted with the app. Nothing further is needed.
Delete your account and server data
Send an email to monu@onecity.co.in with the subject line MasjidGo account deletion request, and include the mobile number you signed in with. We use that number to confirm the request comes from you, and for nothing else.
We confirm receipt within 3 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and the mobile number attached to it
- Your check-in history
- Your travel and qasr records
- Your saved home location on our servers
- Announcements you posted, if you ask for those to go too
What stays, and why
- Masjid listings you submitted remain on the map, with your name and contact details removed from them. A masjid entry helps every traveller who searches that area afterwards, so removing it would take something away from the community rather than from us. If a listing contains a mistake, or you want your own phone number taken off it, tell us in the same email and we will fix it.
- Records we are legally required to retain, for as long as Indian law requires.
Just want to stop sharing location?
You do not need to delete anything. Open Android Settings → Apps → MasjidGo → Permissions → Location, and choose Don't allow. Prayer times will fall back to approximate values, and the Qibla compass and masjid map will stop working until you allow it again.
To stop azan reminders, open MasjidGo → notification settings and turn off the ones you don't want.
